Raised On Country Tour Comes To MS

All country music fans alike love to attend a great country music concert, and a certain country music artist who is currently out on tour did NOT disappoint when he brought his show to town!

The singer being, Chris Young, recently brought his Raised On Country Tour to Southaven, Mississippi on July 18th for an amazing show! Along with him as his opening acts for this concert was Ashley McBryde and Chris Janson.

As the first opening act there is of course some expectations of living up to the following performers, but Ashley McBryde definitely did not have to worry about that because she was a great fit with the other artists. She mentioned during her thirty minute segment that they didn’t have a lot of time, but she wanted to be sure to thank the guys in her band and made sure to introduce them to the crowd.

The Arkansas native also performed several of her popular songs from her latest album such as Radioland, Tired Of Being Happy, A Little Dive Bar In Dahlonega and her breakout single, Girl Goin’ Nowhere. You could tell she enjoyed playing music and was happy to be there!

Up next was the very energetic, Chris Janson! This man is very talented in all departments, and he definitely got the crowd excited by interacting with them along with his performances. While Janson was on stage, not only did the Grand Ole Opry member sing, but he also played harmonica, guitar, piano and drums throughout his show.

Janson performed a number of his great songs including his first #1 hit, Buy Me A Boat, along with, Fix A Drink, Redneck Life, Drunk Girl, Holdin’ Her, and his latest single, Good Vibes! Besides those tunes, he also sang two songs that he wrote and was recorded by other country artists, I Love This Life by Locash and Truck Yeah by Tim McGraw! Not to mention Janson covered another two songs, Piano Man by Billy Joel and Country Boys Can Survive by Hank Williams Jr.

Then came the singer everyone had been waiting for, Chris Young! The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native was thrilled to be in the Mississippi state and was happy getting to bring this tour of his there. One of the reasons that people like Chris Young is he definitely appreciates his fans and said at the show thank you to the audience for spending their hard earn money along with taking the time to come out to see his show.

Young took a few minutes throughout the concert to talk to the fans, and talked briefly about how grateful he is to have his music career by saying, “This is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do.” Along with that he told some stories as well about some things including his songs and tell some jokes, but he also spoke about his adorable German Shepherd, Porter, who travels with him some on the road. They played a cute video clip of Porter playing ball on the tour bus with Young’s band leader/guitarist, Kevin Collier. (You can follow Porter on his Instagram account by clicking HERE!)

Chris Young performed a variety of his songs, a few of which were #1 hits for him such as Gettin’ You Home, Tomorrow, and others like I Can Take It From There, Losing Sleep, Who I Am With You, Lonely Eyes, I’m Comin’ Over, Voices, The Man I Want To Be, Save Water Drink Beer, along with his latest single, Raised On Country and so many more. Young also performed his song, Think Of You that is a duet with Cassadee Pope, and had an incredible video playing of her in the background singing along with him.

On top of Chris Young performing all that, the Grand Ole Opry member covered two songs at the show, one being a classic country song, When You Say Nothing At All by Keith Whitley, and the other known to be a popular song, Papa Loved Mama by Garth Brooks. Last but not least, the artist also performed two brand new songs that fans can hear on his upcoming new album, Hold My Beer Watch This, and one that was just released, Drowning. At the end, Young surprised the crowd with an encore performance of his song, Aw Naw.

There is unquestionably no doubt that this was a fantastic lineup and an awesome concert! You could easily tell each artist enjoyed what they were doing and gave the show everything they had to make it the best experience possible. Chris Young is definitely a down to earth guy and couldn’t be happier to get to share his music with everyone out on the road.     I have seen Chris 6 times now and met him twice! The man is incredibly humble, talented and Loves his fans. I follow him on all social media and am a member of the Chris Crazies and Happy Hour with Chris group. This new show is by far THE BEST TIME IN COUNTRY MUSIC.
