Dion Pride Celebrates His Father, Charley Pride’s 88th Birthday at the Grand Ole Opry

The iconic country music artist, Charley Pride was born on this day in 1934. As today would have been the singer’s 88th Birthday, his son, Dion Pride performed at the Grand Ole Opry on Thursday night in honor of his father. 

A Texas native, Dion Pride was one of five featured artists on the Opry Country Classics show, which showcases country artists recognizing those who came before them in country music history and performing a few covers of songs from other country artists. Continue reading

Grand Ole Opry Keeps Country Music History Alive with Opry Country Classics

The Grand Ole Opry is one of the biggest moving parts when it comes to how the country music genre has evolved through the years. Most importantly, the Grand Ole Opry continues to keep the country music history alive with their show, Opry Country Classics!

This special show honors the classic country music which made the genre what it is today and recognizes the country artists who made those songs so memorable. On the night of December 11th, the legendary country music artist, Randy Travis celebrated a big milestone in his music career with celebrating thirty-five years as a official member of the Grand Ole Opry!

A few artists of all genres recently came out for a special Grand Ole Opry show entitled, Salute The Troops to support those serving our country featured on the Saturday Night Opry on Saturday, May 29th of Memorial Day Weekend!
