Riley Green Kicks Off The Cowboy As It Gets Tour in Southaven, MS With Sold Out Show

One of the biggest country music artists right now, Riley Green recently kicked off his tour, the Cowboy As It Gets Tour at the Landers Center in Southaven, Mississippi with a sold out show! He was accompanied by three supporting artists, Mackenzie Carpenter, Drake White and Justin Moore

“I’m so excited to be here to kick off the show,” shared Mackenzie Carpenter during her delightful set to start out the concert! She performed five songs including All In Already, Dozen Red Flags, Only Girl, Drunk Cigs, and her duet with Midland, I Wish You Would

Drake White came in with an interesting set. “I’m glad to be here in Mississippi today,” shared the artist. He performed a few songs during his set including such as Livin’ The Dream, Mix ‘Em With Whiskey, Heartbeat, Power of a Woman and Makin’ Me Look Good Again

Justin Moore excitedly arrived to the stage, performing his first song, How I Got To Be This Way! He went straight in to fantastically performing numerous big hits of his including Bait A Hook, You Look Like I Need A Drink, ‘Til My Last Day, The Ones That Didn’t Make It Back Home, Lettin’ The Night Roll, If Heaven Wasn’t So Far Away, Small Town USA, Point At You, Backwoods and Why We Drink. Moore also performed a medley of four of his songs including With A Woman You Love, We Didn’t Have Much, This Is My Dirt and Time’s Ticking and performed a brief cover of With A Little Help From My Friends

This year marks the Arkansas native’s 19th year of touring out on the road. “Thank you guys very much for hanging out early with us,” shared Justin Moore during his set. “So exciting to be out with a good friend, Riley, we’ve known each other for a long time and I’m so incredibly happy for his success and him doing this right here because it’s so well deserved, not only is he an incredible artist, songwriter, singer, etc., even better human being. So we’re thrilled to be out here on this tour.”

Riley Green made his grand entrance to the stage performing one of his big songs, Different ‘Round Here! Behind him, a brand new backdrop wrapping around the stage for the tour, brimming a classic wood aesthetic, with a bar off to one side with deer mantels, a liquor display and horse saddles for barstools. “This is the first night of the tour and I couldn’t think of anywhere better to start it! Thank y’all,” shared Riley Green.  

The country music artist, Riley Green performed a variety of his big known hits and fan favorite songs including Damn Good Day To Leave, If It Wasn’t For Trucks, In Color (Jamey Johnson cover), Georgia Time, Rather Be, When She Comes Home Tonight, Make It Rain, Change My Mind, Mississippi or Me, Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (Toby Keith cover), Jesus Saves, My Way, There Was This Girl, You Look Like You Love Me and Worst Way

Along with that, Riley Green brought back out each supporting artist to perform with him, performing three songs, Hell Of A Way To Go with Drake White, Don’t Mind If I Do with Mackenzie Carpenter and Should’ve Been A Cowboy (Toby Keith cover) with Justin Moore. 

Riley Green is one of those country artists you always know what to expect when seeing him in concert but in a new take every time. The same classic yet simple country songs of his which make him who he is and is the reason why country music fans keep coming back for more. “I never get tired of playing country music for people who love country music,” shared Riley Green during the concert.

One sentiment which rings true for all the country artists on the Cowboy As It Gets Tour including Riley Green, they all share a genuine passion and true appreciation for country music and its fans. This concert by Riley Green was spot on, even adding an extra performance stage on the other side of the arena, so Green could walk through the crowd and perform a couple songs from that stage for fans. 

Closing the show, Riley Green returned for an encore performing two songs, his song, I Wish Grandpas Never Died and he brought back out, Mackenzie Carpenter, Drake White and Justin Moore to perform a cover of Alabama’s song, Dixieland Delight! “Thank you so much for a sold out show tonight, thank you!” shared Riley Green.
