It’s a very exciting time in the country music genre and the natural state! The Arkansas Country Music Awards have just announced yesterday, the newest inductees for 2027 for the Arkansas Country Music Hall of Fame! 

The newest members include Tracy Lawrence, Jim “Moose” Brown, Dave Gibson and Eck Robertson! They will be celebrated and recognized during the 10th Annual Arkansas Country Music Awards at the Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway, Arkansas, on June 7th, 2027! 

The Arkansas Country Music Awards President, Nathan Hunnicutt shared in a press release, “The Hall of Fame class for 2027 is four individuals that have certainly carved their own special place in Arkansas music history. Once again, these upcoming inductees solidify the magnitude and importance of the Arkansas Country Music Hall of Fame and the ones that have been inducted, both past and present.”

Country music journalist and historian, Charles Haymes added in the press release as well, “For an Arkansan in the country field, this is the pinnacle for there is no greater honor in the Natural State. The ‘Class of 2027’ is an undeniable mix of highly deserving Arkansans. This is another wonderful group of Hall of Fame inductees.”

Tracy Lawrence is from Foreman, Arkansas and is one of the best country music artists from the 1990’s. Over his 35 years, he has released countless big hits such as Time Marches On, Alibis, Paint Me A Birmingham, Texas Tornado and Find Out Who You’re Friends Are just to name a few. Lawrence has also raised money for his organization, Mission:Possible and launched his podcast, TL’s Road House. 

Jim “Moose” Brown is an accomplished musician, record producer and writer from Nettleton, Arkansas. He spent a lot of his years touring on the road with country artists such as The Wilburn Brothers, Marie Osmond and Dan Seals, while also showcasing his talents by having played on more than 40 number one country singles. Along with that, he was a long time member of Bob Seger’s Silver Bullet Band and is now touring with legendary country artist, Vince Gill. 

Dave Gibson is a songwriter and artist from El Dorado, Arkansas. You might have heard some of the songs he has written which includes If It Don’t Come Easy by Tanya Tucker, Midnight Fire and Heart Trouble, both by Steve Wariner, Ships That Don’t Come In by Joe Diffie, Do You Know Where Your Man Is by Pam Tillis, and Lonely and Gone by Montgomery Gentry just to name a few. He was also apart of the Gibson/Miller Band. 

Alexander Campbell Robertson, otherwise known as “Eck,” was born in 1887 in Delaney and is widely recognized as the origin point of commercial country music. His 1922 recordings for the Victor Talking Machine Company, including Sallie Gooden and Arkansas Traveler, are considered the first commercial country music releases, predating the Bristol Sessions by Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family by five years. 

The four new inductees join previous Arkansas Country Music Hall of Fame inductees Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, The Browns, Ed Bruce, Wayne Raney, Conway Twitty, Kye Fleming, Patsy Montana, The Wilburn Brothers, Jimmy Driftwood, Charlie Rich, Wayland Holyfield, Levon Helm, Elton Britt, The Original Rhodes Show, Bill Carter, Lefty Frizzell, Floyd Cramer, Mark Wright, Bob Robbins, Barbara Fairchild, Reggie Young, Albert E. Brumley, Irby Mandrell, K.T. Oslin, Randy Goodrum, Wood Newton, Collin Raye, Shawn Camp, John Hughey, The Whites, Allen Reynolds, and Jimmy Doyle & Patsy Gayle.
