Tonight many Chris Young fans from around the world gathered at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee or online listening through WSM Radio, to hear the artist have a night he won’t ever forget and neither will his fans, Chris Young becoming the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry.
On the night of August 29th at the Opry, Young was in for a big surprise, when being asked by legendary country singer, Vince Gill, to become the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry in October.
The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native performed a song that helped take his career to the top, Gettin’ You Home, followed by two covers, one of a Marty Robbins‘ song, Devil Woman, and a great performance of Keith Whitley’s When You Say Nothing At All, and closing the portion singing I’m Comin’ Over.
Young’s country artist friend, Brad Paisley, who had the pleasure of getting to officially induct Young into the Opry, was pretty excited about the special night saying, “This is history in the making y’all!” You could obviously tell that Paisley was very happy about Young becoming the newest member of the Opry, “This is a great human being, that’s what the Opry needs,” Paisley continues, “And we will be so proud to have you.”
