CMA Fest, or the Country Music Association Festival, one of the most popular country music festivals in the world, is finally here and already on day TWO. Over 100,000 fans from around the globe descend on Nashville each year to flood the streets and soak up as much country music and country music culture as they can over the four day festival. But, if you’re like me, and don’t like battling crowds in 100° heat or spending tons of money on parking and transportation, I’ve put together a list of five ALTERNATIVE things you can do during your stay here in Music City that might be more your speed. One Week Later – A Look Back on the “Nashville” Finale

Fans of the ABC TV show Nashville (or “Nashies”, as they prefer to be called) were all wondering how producers of the show were going to wrap up so many storylines in only one hour as the network presented the series finale Wednesday, May 25, 2016.

The decision to cancel the series was announced by ABC only a couple weeks beforehand, after the current season 4 was already filmed. However, despite not having time to re-shoot any of the remaining episodes, the show did pretty well bringing closure to most of the plot lines… except one, which was obviously meant to be a season cliffhanger.

Blue Angels and Thunderbirds Tragedy

Even though this topic doesn’t concern country music, we, at The CMBeat felt it was needed to take a moment of silence for the tragic accidents that happened today with The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels.

Earlier today, one of the Air Force’s top-notch “Thunderbirds” pilots crashed in Colorado after performing a flyover during the Air Force Academy’s graduation ceremony. The pilot, Maj. Alex Turner, ejected safely before the crash and is reported to be ok. Continue reading
