A new year has just started which means the time has come for the nominations of the fifth annual Arkansas Country Music Awards and they are now OPEN!

Everyone can nominate their favorite Arkansan’s from now until January 21st. This year’s show will once again be held at the Reynolds Performance Hall on the UCA campus on June 6th, in Conway, Arkansas for the second year in a row.

Recently, The CMBeat got to chat with Arkansas native, Charles Haymes, as he will be returning to co-host this year’s award show and talked to him about what people can expect for the 2022 Arkansas Country Music Awards!

“I think people can expect more and more top notch artists as nominees.” said Haymes, “Each year we see a mix of returning artists as well as some fresh faces among the nominees. The categories are definitely getting deeper with more artists recording, this making themselves eligible.”

When asked if there would be any new things at this year’s award show, Haymes noted there is changes every year while staying on track with the original theme of the event. “Even though each awards show has same categories and similar format, no two years are alike.” said Haymes.
