2 Arkansas Artists Talk Upcoming Arkansas Country Music Awards

The 2nd Annual Arkansas Country Music Awards that is going to be held on Monday, June 3rd, 2019, that will be happening at the Maumelle High School Auditorium located in Maumelle, Arkansas, is quickly approaching!

Earlier this year, country music fans had the opportunity to nominate and vote for their favorite nominees for this year’s shows. You can click HERE to check out the list of nominees from our previous article.

When chatting to Nathan Hunnicutt, the President of Arkansas Country Music Awards Inc., he was thrilled for all the country music artists from Arkansas that got nominated. “The nominees in each category are stacked. The level of talent for Arkansas is top-shelf.”

After last year’s award show, it helped a lot of artists along with some fellow people in the industry, connect here in the natural state which is quite remarkable. “The relationships built between these artists through the awards platform is encouraging. Many from last year are working together on successful collaborative projects.” says Nathan Hunnicutt.

The awards show has already announced that Charles Haymes, a Beebe, Arkansas native will return to take over hosting duties with Miss Arkansas Claudia Raffo to host this year’s show, and everyone couldn’t be happier about it. When speaking of Miss Arkansas, Nathan Hunnicutt said quote, “She is an impressive talent and true to the spirit of Arkansas.” Hunnicutt continued, “Last year’s co-host was Collin Raye and he did a great job. We’re excited to keep the bar high this year as well.”

Since the Arkansas Country Music Awards obviously focuses on the artists here in the natural state, I got to chat with two Arkansas artists that are nominated and that will be performing, to hear about their thoughts about the special event coming soon.

Lance Curtis is a upcoming male country music artist from Batesville, Arkansas. The singer songwriter recently just released a interesting new album earlier this year entitled, Sounds Like Country, on March 1st, 2019 and will have a new music video for one of his single’s off of the album coming soon.

Lance Curtis: I’m just extremely honored to be nominated again! I am up against some very talented artist and that in itself is an awesome compliment! I also get to share this night with some of my closest friends in the music industry. I would like to thank my fans for getting me here two years in a row! It’s been a great ride! May God bless you all!!

Emily Ann Wells: What are you looking forward to the most about the 2nd Arkansas Country Music Awards?

She also filmed the music video for the single at the George Jones Museum in Nashville.

Emily Ann Wells: Do you think the Arkansas Country Music Awards are helping Arkansas artists get more exposure?
Anna Brinker: I absolutely think so, yes! I think it’s helping to bring to light artists that maybe otherwise some folks wouldn’t have gotten to hear about, due to being located in a different part of the state. I’ve connected with folks and made some amazing friends that I may not have crossed paths with otherwise.

Emily Ann Wells: What’s the best part about the Arkansas Country Music Awards?
Anna Brinker: Seeing most all of the country music scene of Arkansas come together…it’s just amazing. Knowing that I live in a state with such talent is humbling and so beautiful!
