Exclusive Interview with Heath Sanders

A upcoming new country music singer songwriter, Heath Sanders that’s originally from Marshall, Arkansas, has quickly started making his way in the country music scene this year by debuting his new music.

The artist recently got to chat with me about several things including how he got started in music and who some of his music influences are that range from gospel to a few country music legends. Sanders also spoke about how it felt to release his music for the first time, and what it was like to be invited on to The Bobby Bones Show, along with what fans can expect from him for the rest of 2019.

Emily Ann Wells: Where are you originally from?
Heath Sanders: A little town called Marshall, nested in the foothills of the Ozarks in Northwest Arkansas. It’s littered with creeks, mountains and dirt roads. Every kids dream.

EAW: Who are some of your musical influences?
HS: As a child, I was heavily influenced by southern gospel. Bands like The Isaacs and Jeff and Sherri Easter. Later in my teens though, the likes of Garth Brooks, George Strait and Shenandoah were some of my favorites. These days its Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Luke Combs.

EAW: How did you get into making music?
HS: I singing as soon as I was able to crawl on stage at church. Dad bought me a drum set when I was 10 and I was hooked. Picked up the guitar when I was 21 and have been in love ever since.

EAW: What was it like releasing your first two singles, Bloodline and Down On The South?
HS: Pretty unreal. Musics always just been a hobby for me so I never imagined having fully produced music out in the digital market. The response has been incredibly humbling and overwhelming.

EAW: How did you feel when you found out you were invited to be on The Bobby Bones Show? How was that experience?
HS: In a word, terrifying. I’d only been playing for the public for a few months so I was far from prepared. Stage fright has always plagued me but we got through it somehow. It was an amazing experience. Bobby is an incredible guy. The entire staff was really kind. I’ll never be able to repay them for all they’ve done.

EAW: When you’re not doing anything music related or working, what is something else you like to do?
HS: Lol. The basics. Hunt, fish and be a dog dad. I lead a pretty simple life.

EAW: If you could accomplish one thing in your music career, what would you like it to be and why?
HS: You know, I’ve never had a hankering for fame. I just wanna make folks feel something. If that’s all I ever accomplish, I reckon i’m just fine with that.

EAW: What can fans expect from you in 2019?
HS: Right now we’re just focusing on writing and getting a game plan together for an album. We’ll probably release a couple more singles this year. That and shows will likely keep me pretty busy.

There is no doubt that Heath Sanders is as true blue as they come. He is a good ol’ southern guy that cares most importantly about the music he’s going to make in hopes that music fans will enjoy it too. If he keeps that momentum and his passion for the music, he can unquestionably have an amazing career in the country music industry.
