A upcoming country music artist, Haley Mae Campbell recently released a new single inspired by her music journey entitled, Highway Honey!
The singer songwriter recently got to chat with The CMBeat about her new single and where she got the inspiration for the song. Campbell also talked about what it was like co-writing the new tune and how the song showcases a true piece of herself in her music.
Emily Ann Wells: Where did the inspiration come from for the song?
Haley Mae Campbell: The inspiration for this song came from my whole-hearted love for the lifestyle of touring and being a musician. I packed up my whole life and headed to Nashville shortly after 18, because all I’ve known my whole life is performing and practically living out of a van! I wouldn’t have it any other way.
EAW: Do you have a favorite thing about this song?
HMC: I love that this song is such an honest and huge part of my story. I wrote it with Alison Elena, a great friend and incredible artist, and we had such a great time sharing stories and being grateful for this life we get to live.
EAW: What would you like fans to know when listening to your new song?
HMC: I hope listeners can hear that my heart is on my sleeve in this song. It’s one of the most personal songs I’ve shared so far, and I appreciate this opportunity that the fans have given me to open up and tell them more about myself and my life. You are all the reason I am able to live my dream every single day!
