An exciting night in country music happened recently on February 29th in Jonesboro, Arkansas as the We Back Tour came to town! The tour by Jason Aldean featured opening acts, Riley Green, Dee Jay Silver and Morgan Wallen!
The show started with upcoming country artist, Riley Green as he performed a few songs including Same Old Song, Georgia Time, Different ‘Round Here, There Was This Girl and featured a great cover of Jamey Johnson’s song, In Color. A memorable moment during Green’s set was when he did a beautiful performance of his latest single, I Wish Grandpas Never Died, by himself acoustically.
While the artists were getting ready for their time on stage, there was a phenomenal DJ who has toured with Aldean for many years, playing music in between! Dee Jay Silver entertained the crowd tremendously with all kinds of mashups including from classic and new country, to pop, hip-hop and rap as well.
The audience was super excited to see upcoming country artist, Morgan Wallen! “We’re thrilled to be here!” said Wallen. He had an amazing set, performing several songs including Whatcha Know ‘Bout That, Up Down, If I Know Me, The Way I Talk, This Bar, Heartless, Cover Me Up (originally by Jason Isbell), Whiskey Glasses and his latest single, Chasin’ You.
Along with performing, Wallen chatted with the crowd, saying how happy he was to have the opportunity to tour with Aldean and to live out his dreams in country music. “I’ve been listening to Jason Aldean since I was a teenager.” Wallen continued, “I’ve always been a fan of country music.”
Jason Aldean started his part of the show off strong, performing a variety of songs including Take A Little Ride, Tattoos On This Town, Crazy Town, Amarillo Sky, Big Green Tractor, When She Says Baby, Drowns The Whiskey (which features Miranda Lambert), Girl Like You, My Kinda Party, Hicktown, Dirt Road Anthem, She’s Country and so many more!
The artist performed songs from his new album as well including We Back and Got What I Got. Although Aldean couldn’t confirm it, he hinted the song, Got What I Got, might possibly be his next single to country radio.
One of the things about this tour which is impressive, is the overall production. They had fantastic graphics on the screen behind the artists and the team seamlessly moved all the equipment in between sets. You could tell it was a great time as you would even see some of the crew dancing along to the music!
