It was one of country music’s biggest nights as stars gathered round at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee for the 53rd Annual Country Music Awards.

The big award show was hosted by country music artist, Carrie Underwood and guest hosts that are both country music royalty, Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton.

While there was a variety of winners from the big night, there was a couple of Arkansas natives that were thrilled to become new CMA award winners!

Shay Mooney, who is well known for being from the country music duo, Dan + Shay and is from the natural state, brought home an award with Dan Smyers for Vocal Duo Of The Year!

Along with them, a upcoming country music female artist, Ashley McBryde who is originally from Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, won the award for New Artist Of The Year!

Although there’s one particular artist from Arkansas that completely dominated the country music industry at the show. This talented woman would be a fiddle player, Jenee Fleenor from Springdale, who was not only the first woman to ever be nominated for the Musician Of The Year award at the CMA’s, but extraordinarily WON in her category!
