A upcoming country music artist originally from Canada, Jade Eagleson is a singer songwriter that is passionate about keeping traditional country music alive and is doing just that.

The rising artist recently got to chat with me about a few things including some of his music influences, about which country music legend he would love to do a dream collaboration with and how he got interested in music. Eagleson also talked about what it was like being a country singer in Canada, his self-titled debut EP, and when fans could expect new music from him.

Emily Ann Wells: Who are some of your musical influences?
Jade Eagleson: Shania Twain, Randy Travis, and Keith Whitley. They’ve all impacted country music all in a unique way and I hold them in very high regard.

EAW: How did you get interested in making music?
JE: I’ve was passionate about music from a young age. My mum and grandfather both played music, and they were such an inspiration for me. I first picked up a guitar, then learned to sing and now I’m working on honing my skills as a writer.

EAW: Living in Canada, what differences do you feel as an artist in country music?
JE: As an artist, I’ve always dreamt of competing on an international level. I’m very proud of my Canadian heritage, I love Canadian country music and I’m so excited to use the skill set I’m learning here to compete on the highest level beyond borders.

EAW: You recently released your self-titled EP! What has the reaction been from your fans?
JE: It’s been overwhelming. I’m so humbled and grateful that people have shown support and listened.

EAW: If you could do a collaboration with any artist, who would it be and why?
JE: I would love to collaborate with Randy Travis. I love the messages in his songs and how he sings them with such conviction. True legend.

EAW: What’s your favorite memory you’ve had in your music career/journey so far?
JE: Every experience thus far has been amazing. The feeling I get every time I step on stage and watch the fans sing my songs back to me still blows my mind every time. That will never get old. Beyond blessed to be on this ride.

EAW: What can fans expect from you for the rest of 2019? Any new music?
JE: For sure! Just got back to Nashville a few weeks ago. We will be releasing new music in the near future I can’t wait for everyone to hear!
