Dion Pride Celebrates His Father, Charley Pride’s 88th Birthday at the Grand Ole Opry

The iconic country music artist, Charley Pride was born on this day in 1934. As today would have been the singer’s 88th Birthday, his son, Dion Pride performed at the Grand Ole Opry on Thursday night in honor of his father. 

A Texas native, Dion Pride was one of five featured artists on the Opry Country Classics show, which showcases country artists recognizing those who came before them in country music history and performing a few covers of songs from other country artists. Continue reading

Conway Twitty’s Grandson, Tre Twitty Talks About Official Conway Twitty Day

If you’re a country music fan, then you probably know about a certain country music legend hailing from Mississippi, the one and only, Conway Twitty.

The singer was originally born Harold Lloyd Jenkins on September 1st, 1933, in Friars Point, Mississippi, but when he was a young boy, his family relocated to Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. Now, the Mayor of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, Jay Hollowell, Phillips County Judge Clark Hall, and the governor, Asa Hutchinson, for the state of Arkansas, is doing something special to remember the icon. They will be proclaiming June 5th, the actual anniversary date of the late artist’s death, officially as Conway Twitty Day. Continue reading

I am so excited to share with you all that The CMBeat is celebrating being up and running for one complete YEAR!

This past year has been crazy, in a good way, since launching the website. I am so incredibly grateful and thankful to all of you who have supported and followed The CMBeat through this past year! I want to especially thank everyone that has worked with The CMBeat this year.  I have to say one of the best things about having this website, is how many wonderful people I’ve gotten to meet, know, and work with over the course of this last year.
