The Isaacs: A Tribute to the Grand Ole Opry in Arkansas

On a Saturday night, it’s always a great night for good ol’ fashioned country music! Recently, the gospel group, The Isaacs performed a unique show in November in Forrest City, Arkansas at the Eastern Arkansas Community College Fine Arts Center.

“Welcome to a special show, A Tribute to the Grand Ole Opry that The Isaacs are doing and taking the trip down memory lane!” shared Sonya Isaacs of the group. “We want you to have a good time tonight with us as we celebrate the songs of the Opry stage.”

DC73D6E6-157B-41AA-AFE6-99D61CF3C431The Isaacs have been on the road with the A Tribute to the Grand Ole Opry Tour, celebrating, honoring and singing so many wonderful songs from the stars of the Grand Ole Opry through the years. 

Along with that, they featured several heartwarming videos from the artists of which The Isaacs were performing covers of their songs including Vince Gill, Jeannie Seely, Carrie Underwood, Lorrie Morgan, Don Schlitz, The Oak Ridge Boys featuring their new member, Ben James, The Whites, Wynonna, Dolly Parton, Mark Wills, Bill Anderson, Connie Smith, John Conlee, and Reba McEntire just to name a few!

The Isaacs opened the show in country style with the song, Highway 40 Blues by Ricky Skaggs! They performed a wide variety of cover songs including Coal Miner’s Daughter by Loretta Lynn, Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good and ‘Till The Rivers All Run Dry by Don Williams, Walkin’ After Midnight by Patsy Cline, Jesus, Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood, The Three Bells by The Browns, Go Rest High On That Mountain by Vince Gill, On The Road Again by Willie Nelson, A Picture of Me by Lorrie Morgan, Miami, My Amy by Keith Whitley and When You Say Nothing At All (the Allison Krauss version).

Along with those, The Isaacs also performed the songs, Forever and Ever, Amen by Randy Travis, Elvira by The Oak Ridge Boys, Keep It On The Sunny Side by The Carter Family, Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days) and Why Not Me by The Judds, I Will Always Love You and 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton, Don’t Laugh At Me by Mark Wills, A Satisfied Mind by Porter Wagoner, Rose Colored Glasses by John Conlee, Once More by The Osborne Brothers, The Dance by Garth Brooks, Still Blue by Bill Anderson, How Blue by Reba McEntire, Once A Day by Connie Smith and I Saw The Light by Hank Williams. 

The Isaacs performed one original song during the show as well entitled (More Than A) Hollow Hallelujah, co-written by all four members of the group from their latest album called, Praise & Worship: More Than A Hollow Hallelujah released in late October of this year. 

12E1415F-3960-454D-9AFE-B7B24D0BBE34This lovely group, The Isaacs expressed during the concert how grateful they are to be apart of the cherished Grand Ole Opry family. “You know, you’ll hear the word family a lot tonight in talking about the Grand Ole Opry because it really is one big family,” shared Sonya Isaacs. “We’ve played the Opry for the last 30 years of our lives we’ve been guests at the Opry, we couldn’t believe it when they invited us to be members a few years ago, it was just such an honor.” The Isaacs were inducted as the newest Grand Ole Opry members on September 14th, 2021.

Along with that, The Isaacs talked about the very exciting accomplishment the Grand Ole Opry will be celebrating next year! “By the way, the Grand Ole Opry is turning 100 years old next year! So Happy Birthday to the Opry and if you want to help us celebrate come to Nashville, make plans to visit Nashville and come to the Grand Ole Opry!” shared Sonya Isaacs

This concert by The Isaacs on the A Tribute to the Grand Ole Opry Tour was a very special and unforgettable show celebrating such a rich history of the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music. The Isaacs are a remarkable group and their vocals together are amazing! Would love to see more shows like this in the future!
