Home Free and Don McLean Team Up For New Collaboration

A popular country music band, Home Free recently did a collaboration with a legendary artist, Don McLean to put a new spin on one of his most popular hit songs!

The pair teamed up to make a new version of McLean’s timeless song, American Pie, which is celebrating its fifty anniversary this year and they released their version on February 3rd.

In case you don’t know, the song was inspired by the unfortunate event which took place on February 3rd, 1959 and the tragic death of multiple singers that died in a plane crash, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and “The Big Bopper” J. P. Richardson Jr.

There are lyrics in the song which mention how that particular day in the world is considered “the day the music died,” and gives a salute to one of Buddy Holly’s hit songs, That’ll Be The Day. The song, American Pie was written solely by Don McLean himself.

This collaboration is special and Home Free along with Don McLean did a beautiful rendition of this remarkable song. The song perfectly showcases all of their vocals for this noteworthy tune!

Congratulations to Home Free and Don McLean on this unique collaboration! The cover of this classic song will be very memorable to music fans all around the world!
