A upcoming young artist, Liddy Clark, originally from Plano, Texas but now is a Nashville, Tennessee native, has been putting in hard work and effort into her music journey from early on at a young age.

The singer songwriter recently got to chat with me about a few things including about who some of her musical influences are, how she got into music and a great experience she’s already had in her music career. Clark also talked about one of her latest single’s, Shot Down (Stand Up), and told when fans can expect to hear new music from her soon!

Emily Ann Wells: Who are some of your musical influences?
Liddy Clark: John Mayer, Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers, Fleetwood Mac, Maren Morris, Ed Sheeran and Jon Bellion.

EAW: How did you know that you wanted to have a music career?
LC: It’s kinda just in that feeling I get when I am writing songs or performing on stage; getting to be my most vulnerable, excited and intimate with others through music is truly a feeling unlike any other.

EAW: What’s one of your favorite memories or experiences that you’ve had in your music career so far?
LC: I think it would be performing at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. This was an event with a lot of different artists, and Garth Brooks happened to walk into the green room at the same time I was there. It was amazing getting to meet him and get some personal advice about my career and how to really draw people in to the music.

EAW: You’ve had the opportunity to open for a large variety of artists. Is there one you liked opening for the most or that taught you a lot?
LC: I recently opened for Lindsay Ell in Los Angeles, and she is just one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet. She treated everyone so kindly and is so connected with her fans; it’s truly inspiring getting to watch her perform.

EAW: What has the reaction been to your single, Shot Down (Stand Up)?
LC: The reaction has been pretty positive, much more positive than I was anticipating! It’s really nice to be able to play this for people who have dealt with the sort of situations that the song delves into and to know that I’m speaking up for something I truly believe in.

EAW: What can fans expect from you for the rest of 2019? Any new music?
LC: Yes! Lots of new music – in fact, we’re releasing a new music video in a couple of weeks and we just finished mastering the songs for the next EP that will be released throughout the summer. 🙂

There’s no doubt that this upcoming artist, Liddy Clark, can definitely have a wonderful and long music career. Seeing that she has the passion, and the drive to put in the hard work that is needed to have a great career in the country music industry, already puts her one step ahead. This is certainly just the beginning of this singer songwriter’s musical journey.
