The Band Perry Officially Leaves Country For Pop

Last Thursday, February 2nd, fans learned that country music is losing yet another one of its younger acts to the “pop” side. The Band Perry announced via Twitter that their soon-to-be released latest album will be called My Bad Imagination and will be their “very first pop album”.

The sibling trio goes on to say in their tweet that the first single from the project is a song called Stay In The Dark, and that it would be released “everywhere” that night.

It’s unclear in the tweet if by “everywhere” the band means that the song will be released everywhere EXCEPT country radio, or if all radio formats will be included in the release. The band has been struggling over the past year to find where they fit in country music – enduring poorly performing singles, which ultimately led to them leaving their label (Big Machine/Republic). Two months later, they signed with Universal/Interscope.
