“My coat of many colors
That my momma made for me
Made only from rags
But I wore it so proudly
Although we had no money
I was rich as I could be
In my coat of many colors
My momma made for me”
We all know the melody and lyrics from that legendary Dolly Parton song, Coat Of Many Colors. And last Christmas, fans rediscovered and fell in love with the tune all over again when Parton released a television movie on NBC based on the autobiographical story behind the song.
The film was a big hit among viewers and fans, many of whom weren’t expecting such a powerful, bittersweet story. Well, those fans can break out the tissues and prepare to fall in love with Parton once again, because it was announced recently that a sequel is already in production. The second installment will be titled, Dolly Parton’s Christmas Of Many Colors: Circle Of Love.
More details have yet to be released, but we do know some of the cast from the first movie will be coming back to reprise their rolls, like Alyvia Alyn Lind, who played Dolly in the first movie. Other cast members returning for the sequel include country music singer, Jennifer Nettles, who will reprise her role as Dolly’s mother, and Ricky Schroder, as Dolly’s father. More cast announcements and a premiere date will be released in the upcoming months.
