As we ring in a new year, it means the time has come for the nominations of the Seventh Annual Arkansas Country Music Awards and they are now OPEN! 

Everyone can nominate their favorite Arkansan’s from now until January 21st! It’s been previously announced, the 2024 Arkansas Country Music Awards will return for the fourth year in a row to the Reynolds Performance Hall on the University of Central Arkansas Campus in Conway, Arkansas on June 3rd, 2024!

Recently, The CMBeat got to chat with fellow Arkansas native and country music historian and journalist, Charles Haymes, about the upcoming 2024 Arkansas Country Music Awards and talked to him about the exciting new changes at this year’s award show!

“The Arkansas music scene is thriving and the 2024 process will likely witness the deepest categories to date,” shared VP of the Arkansas Country Music Awards, Charles Haymes. “It will be yet another exciting year.”

This year, the Seventh Annual Arkansas Country Music Awards is adding a new addition to the category list which everyone will be excited about! “The number of collaborations of multiple artists has increased to where a Music Collaboration of the Year category was necessary. And now with that, the Vocal Duo/Group category will solely be for the regular vocal duos and groups.” said Haymes. 

One more change is coming to the musician categories as well. “There will still be five instrument categories. Bass Player, Drummer, Fiddle Player and Guitar Player remain the same.” Haymes continues, “The change comes in the fifth category which will now be Specialty/Utility Musician of the Year. Now, all musicians, regardless of their instrument, will have a category for consideration.”

There’s a lot of great things planned for the Seventh Annual Arkansas Country Music Awards as K.T. Oslin, Randy Goodrum and Wood Newton has already been announced as the recipients of the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award. Along with that, Mae Estes will be receiving the Momentum Award. It’s going to be a wonderful event you don’t want to miss!
