A upcoming country music artist, Cory Jackson recently released a great new country music single on October 6th, entitled, When The Needle Drops! 

The Jonesboro, Arkansas native, Cory Jackson recently chatted exclusively with The CMBeat about where the inspiration for the song came from, being an independent artist and releasing a new song, along with what he would like fans to know when listening to the new single!

Emily Ann Wells: Where did the inspiration for the song come from?
Cory Jackson: I had been wanting to write a more traditional country song for sometime. I had the title “When the Needle Drops” in a title journal I’ve carried around for a few years and was waiting for the right moment and people to write the song with. I had tossed it out at another write but didn’t stick and ended up on something else and it just wasn’t the right day for it, but one night during Covid, Jon Conley and I jumped on a FaceTime write and were shooting ideas back and forth. This title came to mind and when we started discussing it everything started clicking. Jon was really feeling the idea started writing down lyrics coming to mind. We were not trying to make the song classic country but it just kept leaning to that which I was very excited about! Music takes us back to moments in our life… some sad, some happy, and some you want to live over and over again… we put ourselves in the shoes of someone that doesn’t just go to a bar to drink but to listen to the music from the jukebox because of the memories it brings back. 

Emily Ann Wells: What is your favorite thing about your new single?
Cory Jackson: My favorite thing about my new single is its more traditional country sound and feel. Jon Conley knew exactly what it needed. It’s simple yet so beautiful instrumentally and lyrically. Plus… I’m just a sucker for fiddle, steel guitar, and the classic country piano sound lol!

Cory Jackson: Being an independent artist and having a new single out is such an exciting time!! Seeing fans reactions with excitement and some saying “best song yet” means SO much. I couldn’t do it without you, my fans. Please stream, add it to your playlist, download, keep streaming & sharing, etc… all the things lol. That’s what allows the song to grow and for new people to hear it, but I can’t do it without your love and support that you all have shown me over the years… so thank you for allowing me to continue to make new music for all of us to enjoy, reminisce on, laugh with, and feel right at the core. Let’s keep making the music together #cojacknation!! 🙏🏼🤘🏽❤️
