It was a great night for live music as country music artist, HARDY brought his the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour to First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro, Arkansas! The singer songwriter also brought along tour mates, Lainey Wilson and Dylan Marlowe!
Rising country artist, Dylan Marlowe performed a remarkable set opening the show with a few songs of his including Grew Up Country, Why We’d Break Up Again, I’ll Keep The Country, Dirt Road When I Die, When I Look Back, Record High and You See Mine. “Arkansas, thank y’all so much for coming out,” said Marlowe at the end of his set.
The second act of the night is one of the most popular female country artists in the genre right now, Lainey Wilson came out trail blazing with her performance. She performed several of her songs including Hold My Halo, Things A Man Oughta Know, Atta Girl, Never Say Never (duet with Cole Swindell), Hillbilly Hippie, Smell Like Smoke, Wildflowers and Wild Horses and Heart Like A Truck. Along with those songs, Wilson also performed her single, Watermelon Moonshine with a cover of Deana Carter’s iconic song intertwined acoustically, Strawberry Wine, while the crowd sang along!
One of the memorable moments during Lainey Wilson’s set was when she made an inspiring speech to the little girls and women in the crowd. “It is so cool looking around and seeing all these little girls in their hats and their bell bottoms, looking like some bell bottom country,” Wilson continued. “I do feel a big responsibility, I know we got a lot of little eyes watching us and I want to say all you little girls here tonight, if you leave here learning anything, it’s something that I’m actually in the process of learning right now. It’s getting up every single day with the sun, looking at yourself in the mirror and saying I am beautiful. I am smart. I am talented. I am Godly. I am fearless. I can do anything I set my mind to and if somebody tells me I can’t, hold my beer, watch this!” said Wilson.
The Mississippi native, HARDY made his grand entrance to the stage performing the title of his latest album and the name of the tour, the mockingbird & THE CROW! “We’re here to have a good time with everybody tonight!” said HARDY. He performed several songs from the album and some of his big hits including KILL SH!T TILL I DIE, JACK, BOOTS, 4X4, One Beer, Screen, Give Heaven Some Hell, RADIO SONG, THE REDNECK SONG, Red (with tour mate, Dylan Marlowe), Wait In The Truck featuring Lainey Wilson, .30-06, God’s Country, Unapologetically Country As Hell, TRUCK BED, REDNECKER and closed the show with SOLD OUT!
This specific show was the first one back for HARDY after he previously had to take a brief break from the road. “I’m actually having a great time tonight by the way.” He continued to acknowledge what happened and let his fans know he was doing ok. “I just want y’all to know that I love you and I think that I have the best fans in the world.” said HARDY. One of the special moments of the night was when HARDY brought back out Dylan Marlowe and each artist performed a song that went to #1 for them as songwriters. They performed acoustically just by themselves and their guitars. “I thought it would be cool to bring a little bit of that Nashville style to the show tonight,” said HARDY. Dylan Marlowe performed the tune he co-wrote and was recorded by Jon Pardi entitled, Last Night Lonely. HARDY performed the song he co-wrote and was recorded by Morgan Wallen entitled, More Than My Hometown.
Along with that, right before HARDY performed his song, Red with Dylan Marlowe, HARDY talked about what inspires them both as songwriters. “When we write songs, we’re inspired by things and the things that we are inspired by are people like y’all that grow up in towns, small towns like yours all across the country. I want y’all to know and Dylan is the same way, we write those songs for you, we love you guys,” said HARDY. “You guys inspire us every single day.”
The mockingbird & THE CROW Tour is a fantastic concert! Seeing HARDY perform is always incredible but it’s definitely an even more amazing experience on this tour! The combination of country and rock is put together very well! Along with that, Lainey Wilson was the perfect addition to the tour! Dylan Marlowe is a terrific opener of the show as well!
