A rising female country music artist, Elizabeth Nichols just released her debut EP entitled, Tough Love! The singer songwriter has been gaining traction online with her intriguing lyrics.

Elizabeth Nichols quickly gained momentum with her song, I Got A New One, which is featured on her new EP, but when Kelly Clarkson covered the song on her television show, the song gained even MORE attention! The song shot to No. 2 on the All Genre iTunes chart and No. 1 on the Country iTunes chart for two weeks. 

This debut EP, Tough Love by Elizabeth Nichols features seven songs and each song was written or co-written by Elizabeth Nichols herself. Other songwriters on the project include Jackson Foote, Sarah Solovay, Mags Duval, and Steve Rusch. 

The seven song EP includes the interesting tune, I Got A New One, along with Bible Belt, Tough Love, Ain’t Country, Somebody Cooked Here, Mama and Ain’t Country – Acoustic. All of these songs collectively bring something to the table for this EP!

I Got A New One is definitely the song for those who won’t let anyone tell them what they can and can not do. Although, Bible Belt might be a little controversial, it surely could describe some small towns. Tough Love expresses having always seen the opposite of what love should be. 

Ain’t Country describes those men that try to portray being a person they are not. Somebody Cooked Here is certainly a bittersweet tune, meeting someone new but seeing remnants of an old love. Mama is a flirty little country tune, a perfect conclusion following the last song on the EP, Ain’t Country – Acoustic.
